The nearest station is the historic, Grade 1 listed, Newcastle Central
Station (around three hours to London King's Cross, one and a half
hours to Edinburgh). A key stop on the East Coast Main Line it is
served by GNER, Virign, Northern Rail, The Transpennine Express
and First ScotRail services.
Upon arrival into Newcastle Central Station you can choose to either:
| - |
Take the Metro one stop to Gateshead
Interchange (a couple of minutes journey time) then either a
ten minute walk to The Sage Gateshead or catch the yellow Quaylink
Q1 bus. Pedestrian routes are clearly signed. |
| - |
Walk across the Tyne Bridge from Central Station
(twenty minutes). |
| - |
Take a taxi (eight minutes). |
As part of our commitment to environmental issues we would like
all delegates unable to reach their hotel or The Sage on foot from
Newcastle Central Station to take one of our complimentary coaches.
These will be found at the front of Newcastle Centre Station and
will be clearly marked as BCSC coaches and with a number. The numbers
correspond to carefully planned routes to ensure you arrive at your
hotel as quickly and with as little fuss as possible but if you
are unsure, just ask the driver!
