Showcase

The Showcase saw around 100 companies exhibiting new developments, designs and opportunities. Delegates were able to do deals, share ideas, as well as eat, drink and entertain. The key sponsors for the Showcase features included DTZ which supported the Showcase Main Bar; Esquires which ran the Arena Coffee Bar, BDP with its Juice Bar and Thornfields with the Showcase Coffee Bar.

For the first time ever BCSC created a Public Sector Hub – which saw Belfast City Centre Management, Charnwood Borough Council, Coventry City Council, MIDAS Greater Manchester, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, Stockport Council, The National Retail Planning Forum, Warwickshire County Council and West Wilshire District Council on hand to talk about their plans and ambitions.

Showcase

Winners of this year’s Best Stand Awards went to Savills for the best in the Consultant, Advisors and Architects category, The Mall and Chartered Land for the top Owners, Investors and Developers stands. McDonalds was awarded best Retailer exhibition and best Newcomer went to Treasury Holdings.

At the Mall stand they were living up to their theme of ‘Weathering the Storm’ with an exhibition stand featuring a wall of 35 umbrellas backing a corporate pink-coloured ultra-sized umbrella.

At the Treasury Holdings stand staff unveiled plans for the regeneration of the Spring Cross scheme Ballymun town centre in North Dublin which will include 650,000 sq ft of retail, 300,000 sq ft of leisure and 100,000 sq ft of office space along a 2,185 space car park and 367 apartments. The company also revealed plans for Clonnburris in West Dublin.

On the Chartered Land Stand they were raising the roof with their special model exhibits which could ascend and descend at the flick of a switch. Chartered Land announced it had secured John Lewis for it proposed ‘Dublin Central’ development as well as announcing a Eur 1 billion expansion plan for Swords Pavilions.
