"Clearly this is the more austere conference, the value for money conference, the bigger content conference," commented Head of Regeneration & Development, Cushman & Wakefield and Chairman of the BCSC Conference Committee Alistair Parker on Day 1 - introducing a stellar line-up of top-level speakers and workshop sessions.

"It's great for the Conference to be back here today in Manchester ….. and I'm sure you’ll agree we have put together a great programme - one that will inform our thinking , educate our approach, enliven our debate. We are focusing on government - nationally and locally, on the wider economic picture, on making sustainability effective and affordable , on workable public/private partnerships, on changing planning policy, on working existing assets and driving retail sales... and on the future of our smaller towns and centres."
The event was introduced by Head of Retail Development at John Lewis and BCSC President Jeremy Collins, who stressed the need to work in partnership and to take advantage of the widespread business opportunities at hand as part of Conference and the Exhibition. |
