Date: 04 May 2011

Freshfields, 65 Fleet Street, London EC4Y 1HT

On Wednesday 4 May BCSC and IPF jointly hosted a seminar on how retail trends are impacting on retailer property requirements.
BCSC also launched its Shopping Centre Asset Pricing Guide which is the second report from its work exploring the impact of the current economic conditions on the secondary retail property market.
The aim of this publication is to:
-
Encourage transparent, consistent and well explained assessment of risk when valuations are produced so that the pricing of risk is better understood and compared by all users of the valuation report.
-
Further develop best practice in shopping centre asset management on the basis that by doing so this better manages risk which is reflected in the valuation of the underlying asset.
-
Promote long term sustainable investment in shopping centres.
