Guide published on EPC requirements for commercial properties
(16/10/2008)
The DCLG has published a guide describing the scope and requirements of the Regulations applying to energy performance certificates (EPCs) when non-domestic properties are being sold or let. The document also provides guidance on how these are applied.
The guide specifically covers which commercial properties require an EPC and when the vendor or landlord needs to acquire an EPC for commercial properties for sale or rent when marketing started before 01 October 2008 and for when it started afterwards. 01 October 2008 saw the final roll-out of EPCs to all building sectors with the introduction of EPCs to rented homes and the extension of EPCs to include all commercial buildings when bought, sold or rented.
