Alder Hey Children’s Hospital is the largest and busiest children’s hospital in Europe, treating over 200,000 children and young people every year for everything from broken bones to more complex conditions such as kidney disease, heart defects and cancer. We are responsible for the health of more children than any other children’s hospital in the UK. We are a national centre for the care of children who need head and face surgery and the UK lead on research into children’s medicine. International specialist referrals and collaborations are also a significant part of our work at Alder Hey.
Alder Hey launched the Imagine Appeal with the support of Yoko Ono in October 2005. The charity’s logo is a sketch John did for their son Sean when he was a child and Yoko said at the time “It seems to me entirely appropriate that one of the images he created out of love for our son Sean is used to help the hospital care for children worldwide”. Imagine aims to improve the quality of life for children in hospital by supporting the pioneering work Alder Hey undertakes, improving the facilities and environment, providing the very latest medical equipment and researching conditions that children suffer from today, in the hope they won’t need to suffer from them in the future.
If you would like to help us in any way with our fundraising efforts please don't hesitate to contact us. Thank you for your interest!
